Fentanyl from a criminological point of view

Abstract
Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid painkiller that has raised concerns due to its abuse and illicit trafficking. Its high potency makes it prone to addiction among its regular users and overdose. The black market for fentanyl is associated with clandestine manufacturing, mixing with other drugs of abuse, and illicit distribution often linked to criminal organizations. The consequences of its administration include increased overdose mortality and challenges for law enforcement in the fight against this phenomenon.
